How did you get the idea for your business?

My business was born out of the desire to help others succeed in business. While working in an advertising agency environment, I read Peter Bowerman’s book The Well Fed Writer and decided it was time to offer my services on my own terms so I could truly focus on what I love…integrating great copy into innovative marketing materials.

What are your primary products and services?

I offer professional copywriting services and marketing consulting. The popularity of my POWER Planning Process is rapidly increasing and helps clients make marketing plans fun and profitable. I am offering one-on-one consulting with one of my POWER Planning Process packages through the end of the year and will phasing out one-on-one consulting in favor of an accountability program.

What tools have helped you the most in getting your business started?

Obviously, I use my computer A LOT but I have to say what has helped me most is not really tools but people and processes. I have a fabulous VA. I’ve surrounded myself with terrific mentors and of course planning has been key to my success.

What tools do you use now on a daily basis that you couldn’t go a day without?

My computer, shopping cart, Quickbooks and my trusty Franklin Covey planner.

If you could share one piece of advice for anyone starting their own business, what would it be?
